The title of this blog is 'Origami wonders', based on my personal take on the whole sociological nature/nurture debate:
- We are origami wonders of nature's paper and nurture's creases.
The notion came to me after visiting an old friend in prison one morning. He had shown me some of the most beautiful, intricate paper creatures which he had made during his time inside. Apparently, the Japanese paper-folding art form is quite popular among inmates, and provides a creative and positive way to while away the days, months and years spent in incarceration.
Purely for illustration, below I have posted some photographs, snapped earlier today, of some of the amazing origami creatures which are on permanent exhibition inside Valentines Mansion in Ilford, Essex, UK. I hope you have enjoyed this first post, and continue to join me on some of my mind's rambles on occasion.
